About Philip Vega:
Phil's been riding mountain bikes since he was fifteen years old and has owned more bikes than he cares to admit.  Now that he started Joyride his riding days have decreased somewhat, but that's just temporary.  Having worked in bike shops and for bike companies since he was 16 years old, Phil has been a self-trained mechanic for over half his life now.  His favorite is overhauling and tuning suspension, with wheel building a close second.  Phil oversees all repair operations in the Joyride repair shop.  If you have a tech question, just ask Phil, if he doesn't have the answer he knows where to find it.

Phil also has plenty of experience behind the handlebar as a semi-pro downhill racers and expert cross country racer.  He's even participated in a few road and time trial races.  He considers himself an all around rider with an emphasis on down hill.  His best race results include a second place finish at the 2003 Durango Nationals in down hill as an expert, and a sixth place semi-pro down hill finish at the Fontana Nationals in 2008.  

In his spare time, Phil enjoys working with his local trail building organizations SWIMBA (Southwest Idaho Mountain Bike Association) and the Eagle Bike Park, building and maintaining trails and consulting on new trails and new ideas.
