Joyride Partners With Jamis Bicycles

Phil Vega - Monday, August 31, 2009
Joyride Cycles is proud to announce the addition of Jamis Bicycles to its growing family of high quality bicycles and componentry.  Jamis is well known for their affordable range of high quality mountain and road bicycles, and the 2010 line up is better than ever.

Jamis will primarily fill the low to mid-level range of bicylces in the Joyride catalog.  Select high-end models will be positioned as an alternative choice to the upper-end MSC, LOOK, and Vassago lines.   Expect to see 2010 models arrive soon and great deals on remaining '09 inventory.

Look for the Jamis catalog to be released very soon on www.Joyride-Cycles.com.

ILL COMMUNICATION

Phil Vega - Monday, August 31, 2009
Sometimes the old hanshake and smile approach to doing business can stab you in the back.  It's very unfortunate, but still my method of choice when dealing with bike companies.  Easy come, easy go.

We're sad to announce that due to this sort of action, we will no longer work with with ASI (Advanced Sports).  They are the parent company for Kestrel, Fuji, SE Racing, and Breezer.  Seems after a ridiculous amount of time spent filling out dealer apps, formatting product info for our new website, and making sure they added us to their dealer locators - without our knowing, they decided that we will infact not be able to carry their products.   Talk about a ball punch, ouch!  We found out only after we had a high end sale on the line, and made a phone call to check on availability.

As stated above, "Easy come, easy go".  I'm a firm believer that things always happen for a reason.  So, while this may have chapped my ass in the beginning, a great alternative presented inself immediately following this news.  Which is why we are happy to announce the addition of the Jamis brand to the ever growing family of the Joyride catalog.    A more formal announcement will be released in the next post.

So, if you happen to notice Joyride listed as a dealer on any of the above mentioned ASI brand sites, igonore it and realize the type of service you too may receive from this group.  I hate to spread info like this, but bullying small companies isn't cool, and actions like this need to come to light.

Velo Park Sessions Video by Joe Pynchon

Phil Vega - Monday, June 15, 2009
This great video was shot and produced by local rider, Joe Pynchon.  It features riders and racing from the Idaho Velodrome and Cycling Park.  Most of the riders are under 16 years old, I'm simply astounded by their progression with each visit I make to the park.  These kids are the future of the sport!  The final footage captures the racing action from the first ever, Ride On event, June 13th.  Joe's brother and Team Joyride racer, Dallas Pynchon, took first place in his class.  The Pro Main (the only clips of riders who look to be adults), was Carl Marcum, Art Widmar, and Zane Patterson, they are all part of Team Joyride.  Carl took the Gold with Art chomping at his heels to take second.  Zane rounded out the top three.  Congrats to all the riders!  Joe, geat video!  We look forward to the next one.

Got the f5 out for a quick test ride on trail 4 above Boise. The bike responded really well to the terrain. Thanks go out to Ray Gadd for the great photography.
