Dirt Bag Dash
Glenns Ferry, IDaho
MARCH 25th, 2012
-
Winter is over, time to start dirt road racing. Last year you told me
you wanted more dirt, so I’ve got a new course laid out this year.
Set along the Snake River, this event has something for
everyone… sweeping vistas, upland plateau and just to make it
interesting a couple of short, steep climbs.
Oh, and let’s not forget the post race feast by the ladies of the VFW
Hall to support our troops overseas.
Not the typical bike race. Got your game on?
DETAILS:
Registration starts 10AM - Race start 11AM
Fields start together and are scored seperatly. There will be
signage on the road to keep you on course but you are responsible
for knowing the route - study the maps! The roads are open to
traffic and all riders are required to follow the center line rule and
the rules of the road. There will be no support vehicles - carry your
own pump, tubes and tools.
The course is well packed and fast gravel roads. Last year most
classes were won on road bikes with 23c tires. If the course is wet
you might want to go a bit wider.
New for this year we’ve added single speed and MTB classes.
The pre-registration deadline 3/30/2012 - $70 for the series, $30 for
a single race, juniors $20. On-site registration is $35.00 per event
adults, and $20.00 per event for juniors. Junior pricing does not
change.
Preregister early and easily on-line at www.usacycling.org.
On-site registration and post race festivities:
Veterans Memorial Hall, 132 East 5th Street, Glenns Ferry
http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/26927032
$35 day of race registration for adults.
Juniors $20 day of race or pre-reg.
USCF road licenses required or purchase a one day permit at the
race.
A ticket to the post race chili feed is included with every entry.
Extra meal tickets will be available on line and at the site.
Fields race together but are scored separately. Points will be
awarded for each race, starting with 100 for 1st and descending by
2 per place. Series winners are decided by highest point total from
all three races.
